Karim Massimov appointed new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan
10.01.2007President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed Karim Massimov as new Prime Minister of Kazakhstan at a joint sitting of the Parliament houses, Kazinform reports. Under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the President names a candidate for the post of the premier of the country. After that Parliament deputies should approve a nominee, the President signs a corresponding decree. As earlier reported, President Nazarbayev accepted the resignation of the former Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov, who has served as Prime Minister since June 13, 2003.
