Welcome message from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan NURSULTAN NAZARBAYEV

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I cordially welcome you all, the participants and the guests of the fifth Eurasian Media Forum who gathered on this spring day in Almaty. I warmly congratulate you on the opening of today’s conference!
First of all, I would like to mention the special role and mission of the Eurasian Media Forum. It took five years to become a well-known and useful venue for a dialogue to exchange opinions on a wide range of issues concerning not only the media but the entire world.

Many events that occurred in the last few years once again demonstrated the significance of culture and civilisation differences and the complexity of inter-ethnic relations these days. That is why a dialogue between cultures taking various forms and involving journalists, experts and analysts is becoming increasingly necessary. I believe that this Forum can contribute to discussing such issues.

As a responsible and reliable partner for the global community, Kazakhstan has been trying its best to enable further integration between states, the strengthening of regional and global security and promoting a dialogue between cultures and religions.

In order to accomplish these goals such important and promising integration events as the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia and the Convention of Leaders of Global and Traditional Religions have been initiated.

I wish all the participants of the Forum a constructive dialogue, effective work and good memories of Kazakhstan and of Almaty.
