It is good to see that for a fourth year, the Eurasia Media Forum continues to provide a important venue for an active exchange of views east and west. As an international journalist who has worked most of his 35 year-long career in Asia, I attach great value to the Forum's commitment to discussing and debating a range of media issues affecting us all. In many ways Asian nations remain poorly understood by radio, television, internet and print consumers in the Americas and Europe. By bringing journalists and news makers from Europe, the Middle East and Asia together each year in Almaty, the Forum provides a unique service. This annual cross fertilization of ideas promotes more informed reporting and stimulates all of us to serve our viewers, listeners and readers better.
