Chair of the EAMF Organizing Committee Kazakhstan

Respected colleagues, dear friends and participants of the Third Eurasian Media Forum!
When life rapidly changes, and not always for the better, we start to acknowledge the values of good tradition. And now, on the eve of the third forum, we definitely know that whatever happens in this fairest of all worlds, media leaders, leading experts, renowned politicians from all parts of the Old and New Worlds, Asia and Europe will get together once again at the end of April to debate the global issues of today and search for answers to the question: what's happening? How should we make sense of it all? What can be done?
Our aim is to understand what is going on without giving way to anger and bias. This is why we invite active political figures of different outlooks and involve them in discussions, with only one purpose: the search for truth.

But our questions are far from theoretical abstractions. We truly desire to understand, whether the seemingly insurmountable cultural barriers between East and West, between Christianity and Islam, exist in reality. Or are they merely political inventions caused by certain economic interests? Is it true that the press is one of the ways societies regulate themselves or is it merely a tools to manipulate the public? What is the real role of mass media in election campaigns? Is it possible to organize life anew in those countries, which insist on exercising their right to develop on their own? These are very complex questions; that is why we invite political science experts, culturologists, philosophers and religious leaders to participate in the work of the Forum.
We will be debating, making mistakes, falling into extremes, getting overexcited, defending our positions, but we all have the great right to share our views and speak up. So let's use this right and make one more effort to understand this contradictory world, which, with our help, should become kinder and better!
Welcome to the Third Eurasian Media Forum!
