It is pleasant to realize that some time ago I was the participant of the experiment, which later became part of my life. This happened with the first Eurasian Media Forum in Kazakhstan, which as I thought at that moment was a successful, but most probably just a one-time event. At present the Media Forum in Almaty is an important part of both Asian and European media life.
We, as constant Forum participants, probably overlook the tremendously exhausting and tedious work, which is performed by our Kazakhstani friends annually in order to ensure a few days of the non-stop work of journalists. Every year here in Almaty they manage to create a wonderful environment, which makes all guests realize that they are welcome here not only as guests, but as valuable contributors to the debates and the Forum' work.
There are many other things, which go in parallel: it is becoming fashionable to visit Almaty; it is becoming important to represent your newspaper or magazine on the Kazakhstani market; it is a great pleasure and honor to have an opportunity of a nice after-dinner chat with a delicate and cheery hostess Dariga Nazarbayeva. People talk and write a lot about the Forum and Forum debates afterwards, sharing their wonderful experience. Hence, the Almaty Forum is expanding its reach far beyond Kazakhstan, even without noticing that.
We wish the Forum to move forward with confidence!
