Dear colleagues and friends!

I am sincerely delighted to welcome you at the Second Eurasian Media Forum. Welcome to Kazakhstan!
The world has seen many changes in the year since we last met, unfortunately not all of them positive. No matter what circumstances and problems we encounter, war is always the most regrettable way of overcoming them.

However, let's not despair, as pessimism is not the best attitude to life either. We must endeavor to be tolerant, generous and persistent in our aspirations to overcome the challenges facing today's world.
Media is still the subject and aim of our intellectual efforts. We are still interested in its role and impact on our lives and the world politics. We want to attain greater clarity in understanding such great achievements of civilization as freedom of speech and freedom of views. We are willing to view distinctly the blurred border dividing the freedom of expression and implicit or explicit offence.

I hope that this year's forum proves to be a source of tolerance, wisdom and wonderful new discoveries and acquaintances for all participants.

May the days spent at the Second Eurasian Media Forum remain long in your hearts and minds.
