This Forum will be a very important event for Asian and worldwide Media. The respect for independent Media, which does not confuse the comment with the news, is most important in modern society. Media should allow citizens to know facts and to look at other different cultures in the full respect of their best traditions.

In addition, I think that this Forum also represents a further stimulus for culture and politics in the European Union. The EU is currently underlining its own commitment to enhance dialogue between governments and peoples of each nation through the works of the Convention.
