Dear participants and guests of the Second Eurasian Media Forum!

For the second consecutive year Kazakhstan brings together leaders and experts from the global media community for cooperative analysis and discussion of the role of the mass media in the contemporary world development.

This forum provides a great opportunity for promoting dialogue between the East and the West and establishing good contacts between experts from various fields. It is a hefty contribution to the integration processes taking place within Eurasia.

It is obvious that in a time of increased challenges and threats to global stability and international security, the primary concern of the world's elite is to reduce informational threats and to learn the correct lesson from the gloomy events of the 20th century.

These objectives are very close to independent Kazakhstan, which sets the task of strengthening peace and accord in the world, fostering spiritual unity among the nations, promoting economic and political modernization and recognizing human values as the highest priority.

I wish the organizers and the participants of the forum every success, interesting meetings, and achieving further steps towards the assertion of the informational community on the planet as an important element of future world development.
